Šaunu, kad įsijungei į vikibendruomenę. Tikimės sėkmingo bendradarbiavimo. Jei pirmą kartą dalyvauji wiki principu paremtame projekte, pirmiausia rekomenduojame perskaityti įvadą į redagavimą ir pagalbos puslapius. Taip pat užsuk į Bendruomenės skyrelį, kur rasi naudingų nuorodų, susitarimų, informacijos apie vikisričių projektus. Jei kyla kokių nors klausimų, nesivaržydama(s) kreipkis į senbuvius, kurie visada pasirengę padėti. Pagalbos taip pat gali rasti naudodamasis papildomais bendravimo kanalais, kur labiau patyrę Vikipedijos naudotojai tau asmeniškai galės atsakyti į iškilusius klausimus.

Ką reikėtų žinoti:

• Prašome susipažinti su Vikipedijos taisyklėmis, ypač patikrinamumas, neutralus požiūris ir jokių originalių tyrimų.
• Vikipedija rašoma remiantis patikimais šaltiniais. Enciklopedijos rašymas – tai visų pirma yra darbas su šaltiniais.
• Vikipedija yra bendruomenės projektas, todėl jame labai svarbi tarpusavio pagalba ir sutarimas. Nenustebk, jei kas nors kritikuos Tavo darbą, atsižvelk į dalykiškas pastabas;
• Kilus neaiškumams, straipsnio diskusijų puslapyje išsakyk savo argumentuotą nuomonę. Nepamiršk pasirašyti po ja: įrašyk gale 3-4 tildės ženklus ~~~~ arba redagavimo įrankių juostoje paspausk parašo ikoną ;
• Redaguodama(s) straipsnį, naudokis redagavimo funkcija „Kaip atrodys“ – taip išvengsi bereikalingų taisymų. Pabandyti redagavimo galimybes gali tam skirtame puslapyje Smėlio dėžė arba asmeniniame juodraštyje;
• Gali susikurti asmeninį naudotojo puslapį ir jame pateikti svarbiausias žinias apie save;
• Gali naudoti papildomas priemones, skirtas registruotiems vartotojams.
• Įkeldama(s) failus, vadovaukis Pagalba:Paveikslėliai nuorodomis.
• Draudžiama kopijuoti:
  • autorių teisėmis apsaugotus darbus (knygas, straipsnius, tekstus internete);
  • net jei pats esate autorių teisių saugomo teksto autorius, nereiškia, kad jį galite nukopijuoti į Vikipediją (turi būti aiškiai nurodyta, kad tekstas platinamas pagal laisvąją licenciją – CC BY-SA 4.0 arba kitą jai neprieštaraujančią);
  • neenciklopedinę informaciją (pvz. reklaminė medžiaga, asmeniniai tekstai, pertekliniai sąrašai ir taip toliau; daugiau žr. Kas nėra Vikipedija).

Your feedback is needed - Improving the Content Translation tool

The WMF language team is reaching out to you based on your valuable contributions to the Lithuanian Wikipedia as an editor who frequently uses the Content Translation tool. We appreciate the great work you are doing in Lithuanian Wikipedia to increase content to ensure that knowledge is available in your Wikipedia and understand that it is annoying to encounter difficulties while translating articles or deleted content afterwards. Therefore, the WMF Language team will like to understand from your experience, the issues you encounter when using the tool to translate content.

Our observations
We noticed that the Content Translation tool is not used frequently and sometimes the articles created are deleted. We say this because, from our statistics, 6813 articles were added to Lithuanian Wikipedia in 2020; out of the above figure, only 67 of them were translated using the Content Translation tool and 67% (45 articles) were deleted. While the tool has been frequently used with low deletion ratios on many wikis, the deletion rate and the tool's low usage signals a problem or deficiencies peculiar to Lithuanian Wikipedia. As the Content Translation tool can increase content creation in your Wikipedia and is a proven excellent way to efficiently Introduce newcomers to adding content and expand on existing ones.
