„Polestar“ – Švedijos elektrinių automobilių gamintojas, priklausantis „Volvo“ ir Kinijos „Geely“. Kompanija buvo įkurta 1996 m. kaip lenktyninė komanda ir automobilių tiuninguotojas.[1][2] 2015 įmonę nupirko Volvo ir perdarė į elektrinių automobilių gamintoją.[3]

Gamintojo būstinė yra Torslandoje prie Geteborgo, netoli Volvo. Iki 2028 metų pabaigos Polestar planuoja persikelti į naujai statomą būstinę, 80 tūkstančių kvadratinių metrų pastatų kompleksą Geteborgo centre.[4][5]

Automobiliai surenkami Kinijoje.[6][7][8] Nuo 2023 m. Polestar automobiliai surenkami ir Pietų Karolinos valstijoje, JAV.[9][10] Nuo 2025 m. Polestar automobiliai bus surenkami Pietų Korėjoje, Busano mieste.[11][12]

Pirmasis gamintojo automobilis, Polestar 1, buvo pristatytas Šanchajaus automobilių parodoje 2017 m. ir pradėtas gaminti 2019 m.[13][14][15] Automobilis turi daug panašumų su Volvo Concept Coupe iš 2013 metų.[16][17] Antrasis automobilis, Polestar 2, pradėtas gaminti 2020 m. kovo mėnesį.[18]

Polestar 4 sukurtas Švedijoje,[19] o elektromobilio surinkimą vykdys Geely bei Renault Korea Motors.[20][21] Polestar 4 pradėtas gaminti 2023 metų lapkričio mėnesį.[22]

Polestar automobiliai yra gavę aukščiausius saugumo įvertinimus iš Euro NCAP[23], NHTSA[24] ir ANCAP.[25] Polestar avarijų saugumo inžinerija rūpinasi Volvo[26] bei CEVT.[27]
