Santykis (sinonimai proporcija, koeficientas) algebroje yra ryšys tarp dviejų dydžių (kiekių).
Išreiškiamas kaip dviejų skaičių dalmuo, arba kaip du skaičiai, atskirti „:“ (tariama santykis su…). Skaičius, kuris gali būti užrašytas kaip dviejų sveikų skaičių santykis yra racionalus skaičius.
Pavyzdžiai
- Jeigu mokykloje yra 'dvidešimt su vienu mokinių – mokytojų santykis' tai reiškia, kad mokinių yra dvidešimt kartų daugiau negu mokytojų.
Pastaba 1 apie žodžių „kartas“, „dalis“, „kiekis“ ir kt. vartoseną. Kadangi du objektai lyginami naudojant tą patį matą, santykiai yra bedimensiniai vienetai. Pavyzdžiui, recepto ingredientai, kurių reikia 500 gramų ir 300 gramų, dažniausiai reiškiami kaip santykis 5:3 be vienetų.
